Rough seas have set the backdrop of storytelling and adventure for as long as man has been at sea. And bringing such energy into a room with art is transformative when done on a large scale. No two waves are ever the same. Intensity and direction of wind, swell, and tide, along with atmospheric conditions, sunlight, and timing, means designing seascapes with specific wave action is exceedingly difficult. The amount of sea foam and blue water on a wave makes or brakes a shot like this. Thousands of frames and weeks of time can go by, waiting for each element to align. The drama and light in this shot are the result of a long pursuit.
