Framing

Framing is meant to protect and elevate artwork. All framing materials are hand selected by the artist from local Southern California lumber yards. Considerations such as species, coloring, grain figuring, milling, weight, and consistency are all taken into account. Availability of certain materials may vary depending on what lumber mills are producing at the time a frame is being created.

After years of research and development, the standard framing material is now white poplar, in a natural state without stain or finish. This material is the brightest and most color neutral type of lumber available. This material has a wonderful combination of toughness while being lightweight, which is important on very large pieces of art. The slight warmth and minimal figuring pattern of this material allows it to pair beautifully with both light and dark toned artwork. Unless otherwise specified, this will be the material all frames are made from. The face of the frame measures about .75 inches, and the depth is roughly 3.5 inches. All artwork dimensions mentioned are the outside dimensions of the finished frame. The framing materials and construction add roughly 2.5 inches to the artwork. Images of this standard framing style are available below.

Custom framing is available in nearly any possible design. Added material and labor cost will be assessed, and a deposit will be required. Custom framing makes the artwork into a commission and the commission policies automatically apply.
