After beachgoers are gone, and twilight falls into darkness, there is a short period of pure magic that only the camera can see. Shooting in near darkness, the water will start to glow as the camera gathers light scattered off the atmosphere. As waves rise out of the sea, they reflect light from the sky back into the camera, appearing brighter than the surrounding undisturbed water. In "Colorful Silence," there is also a light mist in the air. The cumulative effect is that the ocean can appear brighter than the sky above the horizon; it begins to glow.
